TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 24th February 2025

Whole School Updates

House points winners are ......

Well done to Orwell House for winning this term's House Points.  Any children in Orwell House can come to school in non-uniform (home) clothes on Friday 28th February. If you are unsure of whether your child is in Orwell House, please email their teacher.

School meals

Bookings for school meals are now available for after half term. Please CLICK HERE for an up-to-date menu and instructions on how to book.

Please remember, even though KS1 (FSU, Yr1 & Yr2) are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM), you still need to complete the booking process.

Playground equipment

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the fundraising for new playground equipment. The children have now all taken part in the exercise circuit, but it's not too late to contribute to the fundraising - please CLICK HERE if you are able to help.

Bags 2 School Collection

FOTS have arranged the next Bags 2 School collection to take place on Friday 28th February. For those new to Trinity or unfamiliar with this concept, it is a great way of donating unwanted clothes, while also raising money for FOTS. The more bags we collect, the more money we raise!

How it works:

1. Fill bin bags (any colour) with good quality, reusable items and tie closed

2. Drop your bag(s) at school between 08:30 - 08:50am on Friday 28th February ONLY

What you can donate:

  • Men’s, women’s & children’s clothing
  • Shoes (paired together)
  • Handbags, hats, scarves, ties, & belts
  • Jewellery & lingerie
  • Socks & soft toys
  • Household linen, curtains, towels & bedding (sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers)

What you can't donate:

  • Duvets, blankets, pillows & cushions
  • Rugs, mats & carpets
  • Soiled, ripped, wet, or painted clothing
  • School uniforms, corporate wear & textile offcuts

Bonus: Your donated clothes help families in need across Eastern & Western Europe, Africa, and Asia, with a special focus on supporting Ukrainian families via Poland. Find out more at www.bag2school.com.

Pedestrian Road Safety

Oxfordshire County Council offers a free guide to parents and carers called Footsteps, which is designed to help primary school children become independent pedestrians who can keep themselves safe when they walk to school. Learning to cope with traffic is a practical skill that needs to be taught in real life with active decision-making. Please visit our wellbeing page for the Footsteps guide:

Nettlebed Stinger

The Nettlebed Stinger will take place on Sunday 27th April. For anyone keen to take part in this 10k run, details can be found at bottom of this Bulletin.

Home to school Transport

Oxfordshire County Council are consulting on proposed changes to their home to school transport policy. If you would like to find out more please CLICK HERE.

Early Years (Reception)

Photos please

As part of our RE curriculum next term, we will be answering the questions 'Who am I?' and 'Where do I belong?'

To help illustrate this, we would like to share pictures of the children when they were babies and a picture of your child in a group that they belong to or have belonged to in the past (sports clubs, hobbies, Rainbows / Beavers etc).

Please email over any pictures to your child's class teacher over half term:

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Year 2 Football Festival - parent help need

Twenty children have signed up for the Football Festival on 20th March, which is great. However, we need at least one more adult to walk the relevant pupils from school to Rupert House, otherwise the children can't attend. If you are able to help for 30 minutes from 12:45pm please email Mrs Evans.

Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4)

No updates this week

Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6)

Any volunteers for Forest School?

Year 5 and 6 are due to be starting Forest school after half term, but we don't have enough parent helpers. The sessions cannot take place without at least one parent to support Mrs Chilvers. Each session is from 1:00pm - 3:10pm and it can be split into two halves. If you are able to help, please email your child's teacher.

  • Mondays - Palmer class
  • Tuesdays - Rundell class
  • Thursdays - Zephaniah class

Year 6 SATS

Your child should have brought home the CGP revision books for additional practice, starting during half term. Please refer to the email sent on 13th February for the explanation and expectations around this work. If you have any queries please email Zephaniah@trinityprimaryschool.org or Rundell@trinityprimaryschool.org

Year 6 Netball

Netball club will be continuing next half term on Mondays from 3.20pm - 4.15pm on the bottom playground.

We have made a great start this term and hope that a few more children might like to join us - we have space for 16 children. The club is run by Mrs Aiken with help from two parents and is for Year 6 children only. There is no charge to parents for this club and all are welcome.  The sessions will take place on 3rd March, 10th March, 17th March and 24th March (please note this excludes the first week back after half term and the last Monday before we break up for Easter).

We are also going to be playing in our first match!  Please note that in the event of bad weather, we may need to cancel the session at short notice.  The sessions will be focussed, energetic and consist of core netball skills development and match play.

If your child would like to continue to take part in netball club or would like to join, please complete the google form via the link below by Wednesday 26th February. Your child will need to wear suitable clothing and trainers for the session. Please indicate whether your child has permission to walk home by themselves or will be collected at the end of the session.

In the event that more than 16 children wish to take part, we will need to select via a random ballot. Confirmations either way will be sent prior to the first date.  If you have any questions please email Mrs Aiken on Zephaniah@trinityprimaryschool.org
