TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 10th February 2025

Whole School Updates

Lunchtime Cross Country

Please remind your child(ren) that we have Cross Country Lunch Club every Wednesday and Friday at 12.30pm (weather permitting). All they need is to bring their trainers in a bag, so shoes can be changed - we don’t want mud in the classes! Children don’t need to come every Wednesday and Friday, they can just come along and see what it is like. As motivation, three laps of the field will get a house point.

Swimarathon Awards Ceremony

We are very proud to announce that Trinity have been awarded the President's Cup for teams most epitomising the spirit and ethos of the Swimarathon event and we have been invited to an award ceremony on Friday 28 March, 6.30-8pm at Braywick Court School, Hibbert Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1UU. For anyone who took part in the Maidenhead event or is planning to take part in the Henley Swimarathon, you are invited to attend.

During this award ceremony, we will hear about where all the money goes and there will be an additional donation offered to the teams who attend this ceremony! Two children will be selected to collect the trophy on the night, so please let Mrs Evans know if your child is able to attend by CLICKING HERE

Please note that although Mrs Evans will be there, parents/carers must remain on site for the duration of the ceremony. It is fine for one adult to be in charge of multiple children, but please organise this between yourselves.

If you are interested in signing up for the Henley Swimarathon on Saturday 22nd March, please CLICK HERE and please ensure all sponsorship pledges are placed. At present, we are on target to receive a whopping £400.00.

Fundraising for play equipment with Steve Frew

On Friday 14th February 2025, Steve Frew, Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist for gymnastics will be visiting our school. We are hoping to use the sponsorship money to get a trim trail or at least one other piece of equipment for the playground.

This video explains what the children will be doing:

Clubs for next academic year

We are currently reviewing the clubs we will offer from September 2025 onwards. If you have any suggestions, please email office.3254@trinity.oxon.sch.uk with the subject heading CLUBS.

Henley Youth Festival

The HYF website is now updated with the 2025 programme, so we'd love to encourage pupils to take advantage of what's on offer - workshops, competitions and opportunities to showcase talents, as well as the popular fun run.

www.hyf.org.uk

The HYF is a unique opportunity for children to build their confidence, whether that’s performing on stage or being creative on paper. Get them to start thinking about the theme of Growing and what they might want to write, draw or film about; or thinking about a dance or musical piece they would like to perform.  All the entries are due after half-term, so plenty of time to get creative and ready to enter!

Early Years (Reception)

Please make sure you are listening to your child read most days and logging it in their yellow books.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Please make sure you are listening to your child read every day and logging it in their yellow books.  In addition to this, please support your child by practising their phonics / spellings at home.

Football Festival (Year 2 only)

Please sign up for the Rupert House football festival (taking place on 20th March) by Thursday 13th February by clicking this link:  https://forms.gle/8onnT6bjnW6P14Gq7

Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4)

Mayor of Henley Bronze Expedition

Thanks to everyone who has signed up for the Bronze expedition on Tuesday 11th February and to the parents who have got in touch with Miss Hart to volunteer.

We are still missing a few children, so if your child is yet to confirm their attendance on the walk, please click this link: https://forms.gle/hZTvVEPLu4rNe1AW8

Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6)

Forest School (all)

In response to feedback from parents and governors, we are trying to tighten up on uniform and this includes for forest school. Forest school is not the time for your children to be wearing their most fashionable clothes. Clothing must be plain, dark and unbranded.

Please visit www.trinityprimaryschool.org/forest for a list of suggested clothing.  The second-hand uniform sale on Tuesday 25th February could be the perfect opportunity to buy cheap items of PE kit to be used for forest school.

Swimming lessons (Year 5 only)

We can now confirm that Year 5 children will be having their swimming lessons in the summer term.  Further details will follow in due course.

Young Citizens Workshop (Year 6 only)

Please could all Year 6 parents / carers look out for the email regarding the exciting opportunity for the children to attend the Young Citizens workshops in Oxford. The deadline for responses and payment is Friday 14th February.

Cycling to school (Year 6 only)

Please remind your children they must cycle directly to school. They can rest their bike along the fence at the top of the path while they drop their phone at the school office, then they should walk their bike back down the path and onto the playground.  Residents of Singers Lane have made complaints about Trinity pupils cycling recklessly and this is not the reputation we want our pupils to have.

Mayor of Henley Bronze Expedition (for any Year 5 or 6)
