Whole School Updates

Increasing Parental Engagement through Information Sessions

As part of our School Development Plan, one of the school's key priorities is to enhance parental engagement, ensuring that our families feel informed, empowered and actively involved in their child’s education.

With this in mind, we are planning to deliver a series of Parent Information Sessions throughout the academic year. Please see the list below, which outlines the planned topics and the term in which each session will take place. Further details about these sessions will be shared in due course.

  • EYFS Stay and Play sessions - these will take place each half term with morning and afternoon sessions - dates TBC
  • How children learn: Exploring the science of learning - Spring 1
  • Growth mindset and resilience – Spring 2
  • Maths Mastery: Exploring how we teach Maths at Trinity - Summer 1
  • Phonics Screening Check Information Session (for parents of Year 1 and any Year 2’s retaking the Phonics Screening Check this year) - April 2026

Remembrance Service - 10:45am on Tuesday 11th November

We would like to invite Trinity families to join us at Trinity Church (RG9 1SE) on Tuesday as we gather outside the Church to mark Remembrance Day. If the weather is poor, we will move inside the Church. Please note the later than usual start time, to allow for the silence at 11:00am.

Uniform

Please send children to school in smart uniform for their photos on Wednesday. As it gets colder, please also make sure children are coming to school with a coat as we try to get them outside at play times. Thank you to the parent volunteers who ran the secondhand uniform sale on 7th November.

Children in Need - Friday 14th November

This year, for Children in Need, the School Council would like to raise money by hosting a pyjama day on Friday 14th November. Pupils are invited to help raise money by wearing pyjamas to school and making a voluntary donation using our online fundraising page: CLICK HERE for the Just Giving page.

We look forward to seeing you all in your cosy PJs. Don't forget to put your underwear on and layers underneath to keep you warm!

Odds Socks for Anti-Bullying Week - Friday 14th November

In addition to pyjamas, pupils are invited to come into school on Friday wearing odd socks in recognition of Anti-Bullying Week. CLICK HERE for more details.

SEND Football

Rotherfield United FC are offering free SEND football sessions between now and Christmas to any pupils in Years 1 - 6 who have SEND need, or have an EHCP in place. CLICK HERE to book and see flyer at the bottom of the Bulletin for more details.

Happy Birthday Jill

On Monday 10th November, our wonderful chef Jill will be celebrating a rather special birthday and we would like to mark this occasion by asking children to secretly bring into school a fun head item (eg party hat, wig, diddly boppers) to wear during assembly when we will make a surprise presentation to Jill. If your child would like to take part, please send them to school on Monday with the item hidden in their bag.

Flu Vaccinations Available

Did your child miss the flu vaccination in school? It's not too late and vaccinations are still available. CLICK HERE to book an appointment. Our school code for booking is OX123173.

Cross Country

The second leg of the Primary Schools Sport Competition, Winter Series is on Saturday 8th November at Maiden Erleigh Chiltern Edge. This starts at 10:00am for Year 1 and runs every 10/15 minutes until 11:15am when Year 6 will run. Children can run independently, but if they wish to enter as part of the Primary Schools Sport Competition (Years 3-6), there needs to be a minimum of three runners per age group. We only have a chance of winning the trophy if we have enough children taking part and it's only once a month (8th November and 6th December) so please come along and take part.

Reminder that The Oratory School is hosting a community cross country event on the afternoon of Saturday 29th November. No pre-registration required. Open to Years 1-6. Please see flyers at the bottom of the Bulletin for more information, including 2026 dates for your diary.

Invitation to the Schools Triathlon 2026

Trinity pupils are invited to enter teams to take part in the Schools Triathlon taking place next year. There was a lot of enthusiasm for this when it was discussed in assembly last term, so we hope many children will take the opportunity to join in. Details, including sponsorship requirements, can be found at the bottom of this Bulletin.

Early Years (Reception)

Changing clothes on Wednesday

On Wednesday, Reception are timetabled to have both official school photos (taken by a company called Tempest) and Twiggy Wednesdays requiring Forest School clothes. Please send your child into school in smart school uniform, with the Forest School clothes in a named, separate bag. The children will get changed at school after they have had their photos taken.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Trainers on Wednesday

On Wednesday, Tempest are coming to take individual pupil photos. As our KS1 classes are timetabled to have PE on Wednesday, please send your child(ren) to school in normal school uniform, but with trainers instead of school shoes.

Forest school volunteers

If you are able to help with Forest Term this half term, please contact your class rep.

Bird homework

Children in KS1 have started a new writing project and are very excited to learn about different birds. A bird watching activity sheet has been sent home this week. Although this is optional, please do encourage your child to look out of the window or go outside in the garden or to the park and see which birds they can spy. In class, we will be learning about the robin, but in a couple of weeks time we will be asking the children to have a go at writing their own non-chronological report about a bird of their choice. To give them a head start, they could use the next couple of weeks at home to decide which bird they would like to write about and to do a little research of their own.
