Staff news
It is with great sadness that we wanted to let you know we will be saying goodbye to Beth Evans at May half term. Beth has been part of the team at Trinity for 4 and a half years and she has been a wonderful asset across the school, although primarily in Foundation Stage and Key Stage One. Beth is moving on to new opportunities in a nursery setting to broaden her experience of the Early Years curriculum and we wish her all the best in the next steps in her career, which we have no doubt will be flourishing. Thank you to Beth for everything you have done for the children and community at Trinity; we will miss you very much and hope to keep in close contact in the future.
Art competition - deadline Monday 5th May
We’re delighted to share an exciting opportunity for your child to take part in Portrait of a Loved One, an art competition launched by The Portrait Foundation in association with Education Henley.
Children are invited to create a portrait of someone very special to them, entirely in their own work and using any medium. Artworks will be judged by a panel of respected figures from the art world, with winners receiving art prizes and the chance to have their work exhibited at the Henley Festival on Sunday 13th July. All entries will also be displayed in a gallery space in Henley.
Key details:
- Artwork size: A4
- Age categories: Up to age 6 and 7-11 years
- Deadline: unframed artwork submitted to school by Monday 5th May
- On the back of the artwork (in pencil), please clearly write: your child’s full name, their date of birth, school name and a maximum of 2 sentences (in your child’s own words) explaining who the portrait is of and why they are special.
- One entry per child.
We understand this is short notice, but it’s a lovely opportunity for children to celebrate someone they love through art. We hope many will enjoy taking part!
Children who are in Art Club will have the opportunity to do their entry on Tuesday 29th April with Hannah, so please only submit one entry per child.
Red, White & Blue Day – Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day - Thursday 8th May
We’re excited to announce that our school will be taking part in Red, White & Blue Day on Thursday 8th May; a special event to mark the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to come together in celebration and remembrance.
To show our support, we’re encouraging everyone to:
- Wear red, white, and blue – a fun and patriotic way to honour this historic occasion.
- Donate £1 per participant – all funds raised will go directly to Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), supporting veterans, their families, and individuals in need, via our JUST GIVING LINK
- Bring in an item / photo - if your family has any photos, stories or items linking to World War 2, they are welcome to bring them in to share with their class.
By taking part, students will not only be helping those who have served our country, but also gaining a deeper understanding of VE Day and the value of community support.

Trinity's Spring Fun Run - Friday 23rd May
On the last day of term, children will be taking part in a Spring Fun Run to help raise money for the New Brainstorm School in Uganda.
Each class will have a 30-minute slot during the school day to take part in this special event. Children will first get creative by making their own spring-inspired headbands, then head outside to run in three groups of 10 students. The event will run throughout the day, ensuring everyone gets a chance to shine!
All proceeds raised will go towards supporting our partnership school in Uganda, New Brainstorm School, helping to make a positive impact on the lives of children in their community. Donations will be via a link on the FOTS website which will be updated shortly.
Tech Club
Unfortunately Tech Club will not be running this term. For a list of alternative clubs, please visit www.trinityprimaryschool.org/clubs
Lost property
Our lost property boxes are overflowing, both at the entrance to the playground and inside the office. Please can we encourage you or your child to claim missing items. Anything left at the end of term will be donated to FOTS second-hand uniform sale to make space. To avoid your child's items ending up in lost property please ensure they are clearly labelled.
