TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 12th January 2026

Whole School Updates

Smartphone Free Childhood Talk - Tuesday 13th January

All parents are invited to join us in the school hall on Tuesday, from 7:00-8:30pm to hear guest speaker Dr Kavita Abraham Dowsing who will share research findings and offer guidance on supporting children in a Smartphone-free environment.

This will be especially relevant to Year 5 parents, as from September 2026 all Henley Primary Schools will have a ban on children bringing smartphones to school.

Homework

Remember to check your child's class page for this half term's spellings and, where relevant, Learning Means the World activities.

Please also encourage your child to complete a couple of the '100 Things' activities over the next few weeks, so that they are ready to bring their book in to show their teacher before February half term.

Class Updates

Swimarathon

For anyone taking place in the Swimarathon on Sunday 11th January in Maidenhead, or for anyone wishing to support our swimmers, here is the Just Giving link:

Just Giving - Maidenhead Swimarathon - 11 January 2026

Spare Clothes

When children get muddy or wet at school (or if they have a toilet-related accident), where possible, we provide them with a change of clothes. However, in most cases, these clothes are not being returned, meaning we are now running very low for things such as trousers and tracksuit bottoms etc. If your child has been loaned uniform, please wash and return it to the office and if anyone has any donations of trousers / tracksuit bottoms please drop them at the office.

Suitable Clothing

Please be sure to send your child to school with a coat. With the weather as it is, it is essential that children have a warm, waterproof coat. If you are struggling to provide this, please contact the office or your class teacher in confidence.

Flyers - Half Term Camp, Free Football and Karate

Please look at the flyers at the bottom of this Bulletin for companies advertising holiday camps, free tickets to see Oxford City Football Club and a new karate class at Henley Leisure Centre.

Early Years (Reception)

After school clubs

As a school, we do not offer after-school clubs to children in Reception until the Summer term. This is to allow children two full terms to settle into school. The exception to this is Junior Adventurers Group, who offer breakfast club and after school childcare from day 1. An email will be sent just before the Easter holidays, advising of the Summer term clubs and how to book.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Spare clothes

We are desperately in need of spare clothes - trousers, tights, underpants, socks etc- as we give them out and they rarely get returned. So if you have any spares at home please send them in to the office or your class teacher.

Forest School

Apologies for the confusion over Forest School days. Just to confirm the correct days are:

  • Monday - Dahl class
  • Tuesday - Murphy
  • Thursday - Rosen

For any Year 1 children in Rosen or Murphy class who have NOT completed the Google form giving permission - please CLICK HERE.

Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4)

Swimming

Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to walk the girls to swimming.  We are missing parent volunteers to walk the boys group, so if you are able to help with walking the boys there or back please email office.3254@trinity.oxon.sch.uk

Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6)

DT Homework

Starting on Monday 12th January, we will be doing some DT work for our new topic. Please could you help your child to cut out a shield shape out of cardboard and bring this into school on Monday 12th / Tuesday 13th. We will then be adding design details etc to the basic cardboard shape in our lessons. Size-wise, A4 or bigger would be ideal.

Mosque Trip - Monday 26th January

If you are yet to complete the consent form (link below) and payment contribution (via School Gateway) for the mosque trip, then please make sure you do so before Wednesday 14th January. See email sent 06/01/26 for further details.
