TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 2nd March 2026

Whole School Updates

Greener Henley's Green Futures Award

Greener Henley is Henley’s climate and nature action charity and the Green Futures Award is the first independently-run, local awards programme supporting schools to take climate and nature action.

We are delighted to share that our school has been awarded a Bronze certificate for embedding climate and nature action into our everyday learning and operations.

We are very proud to receive this award, as this achievement reflects our school’s commitment to helping create a better, more sustainable future for our children, starting here at home in our local community.

Parent Consultations - Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March 2026 from 4.00-7.00pm

Booking for parent consultations will go live at 8:00pm on Monday 9th March, so please look out for an email and remember to log in and book to see your child's / children's teacher(s).

World Book Day - Thursday 5th March

Reminder that we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday and children are welcome to come into school dressed as a character from a book, if they wish (there is no expectation to).

The deadline for submitting an entry for our Extreme Reading Challenge is Tuesday 3rd March. Children can send a photo of themselves reading in an unusual place or showing other ways to enjoy reading (such as audiobooks, comics, magazines or sharing a story). Please email photos to extremereading@trinityprimaryschool.org and they will be judged by our Reading Champions.

Homework for Term 4

  • Spellings for Term 4 have been uploaded to each class's Homework page. Please visit Class Updates and click on the relevant Class, then click the Homework tab on the right. Depending on your child's age, you may also find updated Phonics information (KS1 only).
  • This term, all the children will move onto new topics in their Learning Means the World lessons. The website provides further enrichment activities to support and extend what your child is learning in class.
  • Alongside this, we continue to have our 100 Things to do before you leave Trinity initiative, which is designed to give your child a set of tangible activities and experiences to be completed at home or in the local area and community. These activities further support our school vision and are optional, but we really hope that you will encourage your child to take part in doing 1 or 2 of them each half-term and record them in their books. The children will share and celebrate their achievements with their teacher and classmates at the end of Term 4.

Henley Youth Festival Run - Saturday 7th March

The Henley Youth Festival Fun Run is taking place on Saturday 7th March, with registration from 9:00am! It’s always a brilliant morning, full of energy, smiles and cheering and we would love to see lots of Trinity pupils there.

As an added incentive, the school with the most entries wins £250, so dig out your child's trainers and sign them up. What do you think the children would vote to spend this on if we won?

The event is open to children from Reception through to Year 6, and it’s all about fun, participation and community spirit. Whether your child is a speedy sprinter or just wants to jog with friends, everyone is welcome.

More details can be found in the flyer at the bottom of this bulletin or CLICK HERE to register.

Please complete the Google Form to give your consent for your child to join the walk, and if you are able to volunteer to accompany the group we would be very grateful.

Year 4 Play

The timings for the Year 4 play have been confirmed as 1:45-2:45pm on Thursday 19th March. This is normally well-supported, so to make sure we have space to accommodate any parents / carers / grandparents wishing to attend, the play will be performed at Trinity Church.

Learning Means The World - New Topic

We have just started our new topic ‘Go with the Flow’. As part of this topic, it would be great if you could send in photocopies of photographs showing your child at different stages of their life. It would be wonderful to include family members as well - parents, grandparents and siblings. If you are unable to make photocopies at home, please send the photos into school and we will copy them for you.

During this topic, we will also be carrying out a range of investigations and experiments. Each class will need:

  • 7 x 1 litre plastic bottles
  • 2 x full boxes of Cheerios
  • 7 x clean jam jars

If you have any spare items at home that you would be happy to donate, we would greatly appreciate them. Thank you.
