Whole School Updates

Parent Consultations

Parents consultations for this term will take place on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October. Bookings will open on Monday 12th October at 8:00pm, so please keep an eye on your emails for instructions about how to book.

Are you eligible for free school meals?

Your child may be entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) if you are receiving Child Tax Benefit, Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance.  Please enquire at the school office where your enquiry will be dealt with confidentially, or complete the form on our website: MEALS

100 Things - Monday 19th October

This is a whole school initiative that we launched last year and due to its popularity, we are continuing it again this year.

Please can all children in Years 1-6 bring their 100 Things to do before you leave Trinity books into school on Monday 19th October. Any new pupils (Reception and anyone who has recently joined us) will be given a book on this date, along with an activity sheet. The activity sheet outlines 15 interesting, non-academic challenges and experiences that are appropriate for their current year group and have been designed to develop independence, resilience and problem-solving.

More details can be found here: 100 THINGS

FOTS

  • Neon Day - Friday 9th October. Please note that FOTS Neon Day has been moved to Friday 9th October. Children should come to school dressed in their brightest, boldest neon colours to help raise money for FOTS.  The class with the highest participation will win 15 minutes of extra playtime β€” so let’s see which class can glow the brightest! πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ©·πŸ§‘. Please make your voluntary donation here: FOTS NEON DAY
  • 22nd October - Glow in the Dark Disco - Thursday 22nd October. Tickets are selling fast for this much loved event. Taking place on the last day of term at Henley Rugby Club, this is one your child will not want to miss.  Bookings can be made here: FOTS GLOW IN THE DARK DISCO

Bulbs and Plants

If anyone has any unwanted daffodil bulbs or small plants, we would love to take them off your hands. If you have any going spare, please bring to the school office on Monday 5th October, so that they can be planted in our grounds.

Oxford Health

We have been asked to share the posters at the bottom of this Bulletin with Trinity families, specifically highlighting the impact that food and drink has on teeth.

Early Years (Reception)

Official launch party for our Early Years Space

Parents and carers of children in Early Years are warmly invited to the official opening ceremony of our Early Years space on Wednesday 7th October from 2:45pm.  Thanks to an amazing donation by FOTS we have been able to renovate the Early Years space, and we would love you to join us for a glass of bubbles. The children will perform a song and say what they like most about the space and there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a party tea for the children, thanks again to FOTS.

Phonics and early reading

For any parents who were unable to attend the recent talk on Phonics and reading, the slides have now been uploaded here: EY HOMEWORK.  The slides will explain how we approach reading at Trinity and how you can support your child's reading at home.

Press photos from the First Class supplement

Henley Standard recently ran a feature on all the children in our area who started school in September. If you would like to purchase one of their official photos, please visit the following link:

First Class Photos

Please note, even though the link only references 'Bryon' class, both Bryon and Jeffers class photos can be found under the heading 'FIRST CLASS HENLEY Trinity Primary School Byron Class' at the very bottom of this page.

Moving to Primary School Survey

Oxfordshire Council would really appreciate your time in completing the following questionnaire:

MOVING TO PRIMARY SCHOOL

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Reading Books

A gentle reminder that children should be reading at home at least three times per week. Ideally, their book should be read twice to help with their reading fluency. They should have their reading books and reading records in school every day as they may be asked to read with an adult. Thank you for your continued support.

Henley Literary Festival

Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered their time to help walk the children on Thursday 8th October. We will be leaving Trinity soon after registration, approx 9:10am and will be back at school in time for lunch at approx 11:45am. Please go to the main school office to collect a High-Vis jacket and to sign the walking risk assessment.

Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4)

Mayor of Henley Bronze Award

For any Year 4 parents who missed the Mayor of Henley Bronze talk, the presentation slides have now been uploaded to our website: MAYOR OF HENLEY

We hope many children will take up this wonderful opportunity. If your child is interested in taking part please collect a commitment letter from the school office and return it by Monday 22nd October.

Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6)

Palmer spellings

Apologies for the delay, but Palmer class spellings have now been uploaded to the Upper Key Stage 2 Homework page: HOMEWORK
