TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 11th May 2026

Whole School Updates

Henley Primary Schools will be smartphone free from September 2026

Following consultation and discussion with parents, from September 2026 all Primary Schools in the area (Trinity, Valley Road, Badgemore, Sacred Heart etc) will be going smartphone free, meaning pupils in Year 6 will be forbidden from bringing a smartphone to school. Pupils will still be able to bring a ''dumb'' / brick phone (able to make and receive calls and send texts, but without the ability to access the internet) to school.

100 Things

Teachers will be asking to see your child's 100 Things booklets in the last week of term, so this is a friendly reminder to encourage your child to complete one or two of the activities at home, so that they have something to show their teacher and classmates.

School Fund

Lots of parents expressed an interest in supporting our School Fund at Parents Evening. We would really appreciate it if you would consider making a regular monthly contribution, however small.

Like many UK primary schools, Trinity is facing increasing financial challenges. Our goal remains the same, to provide an outstanding education for every pupil, ensuring they have access to the best learning resources and opportunities.

Please visit our SCHOOL FUND page for details on what the School Fund is used for and to support.

School Development Plans - Talk Friday 15th May

Please join us in school at 9:00am on Friday 15th May to hear about our exciting plans to develop our Early Years area. This talk is for current and future parents and it's just the start of our plans to develop the school site.

Henley Outdoor Play Scheme (HOPS)

Trinity has been chosen to host Henley Outdoor Play Scheme again this summer. From 27th to 31st July, our school is taken over by one of the most fun and competitively priced holiday camps for children in Years 1-7. This is externally run and very popular, so keep an eye on their website for details of when bookings will open - https://www.hopshenley.co.uk/

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Forest School

After May half term, Years 1 & 2 will return to doing Forest School, as per the schedule below:

  • Murphy - Monday
  • Dahl - Tuesday
  • Rosen - Thursday
As always, for these sessions to go ahead, we will need a parent volunteer to come in for 1 or 2 hours between 1:00- 3:00pm, so if you are able to spare an hour (or two) please contact your class rep to volunteer. Thank you.

For more details on what to wear, what is involved etc, please refer to our FOREST SCHOOL page of the school website.

Reading Journey

It has been wonderful to see so many children engaging enthusiastically with the Trinity Reading Journey. As we move further through the year, many children have now read a wide range of their 50 books, and it is important that the books continue to be shared and rotated amongst all pupils.

We are aware that some children may have had their current Reading Journey book at home for some time. We kindly ask parents and carers to support us by ensuring that their child’s current Reading Journey book is completed and that the book review is filled in before returning it to school. This will help us to continue rotating the books amongst the children.

If we do not currently have a Reading Journey book in school that your child has not yet read, we encourage families to visit the local library to see if copies are available. Alternatively, you may be able to find a read-aloud version of the book online.

Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6)

Year 5 Swimming

Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to accompany Year 5 swimming so far this term and to those who have agreed to cover the remaining two weeks. If you have received an email confirming we would like to take you up on your help but can no longer support, please let the school office know as soon as possible so that we can find replacement volunteers.

The last week of swimming is Wednesday 20th May and on this date children will need to wear pyjamas (or shorts and a tshirt) over their swim stuff to simulate life saving skills and understand how to save themselves if they fall into water wearing clothes.

Fire and Road Safety

All pupils in KS2 attended a Fire and Road Safety Talk on Friday 8th May. Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has asked that parents download their fire safety booklet, as it supports the talk. Please take the time to look at this and share it with your child(ren):

Year 6 Leavers Yearbook

The Year 6 leavers yearbook is kindly co-ordinated by Trinity parents and is a lovely keepsake for pupils, showcasing their time at Trinity. We have been asked to share photos taken by school that have previously appeared on our website, so if you have any objection to photos of your child appearing in the yearbook, please email office.3254@trinity.oxon.sch.uk by Friday 22nd May.
